How to transfer files from one laptop to another wireless an without any type of router ?

i have two laptops one with xp and second with vista operating system. now please tell me how can i transfer files between them wireless and without using any type of router by creating an ad-hoc network . elaborate your answer with complete steps|||What you want to setup is an "ad-hoc" connection, provided both laptop wireless cards support the feature.


Head into the properties of the wireless network connection.


Click the Wireless Networks tab and then Add...


Specify an SSID (this identifies your network).


Choose some encryption if you want (you will need to pick out a "key" as a password into the network).


Tick the "This is a computer-to-computer (ad-hoc) network" checkbox.


Click OK.

If you are not using the wireless at all, you can set up an ad-hoc network, but if you want to use them wirelessly to access the Internet, then every time that you change from one to the other, then you will have to reconfigure the wireless connection. The Thumb Drive is easier.|||Just to clarify, a router is not used to create an ad-hoc network. An ad-hoc network is two pc's connected together via wireless or wired.
