I want to make some hot iron transfers from vintage ones. What is the best type of transfer paper to use.?

Many types on on the market. I need one that I can easily embroider over. It must be a soft line without anything sticky.|||You can use plain tracing paper and a hot iron transfer pencil, availible at and craft or fabric store, even in the sewing department of Walmart. The thickness of the line is determined by the sharpness of the pencil.


An alternative to an iron on pencil if a charcoal pencil. Use this the same way as the iron on pencil but instead of having to iron the design all you need to do is put the paper in place and rub the back of the paper to transfer the lines to the fabric.


There are plusses and minuses to the charcoal pencil. Plus - no iron needed, lines easily brushed off fabric if design changes. Minus - if your hand rests on the lines you might remove them too soon.
