What type of transfer printing is this known as?

When I was at Art college I used a type of printing where I would spray some kind of solvent onto a Newspaper or printed image then press the newspaper onto a piece of plain paper, resulting in a reversed image of what was on the newspaper.

Also what type of solvent or chemical could I use to achieve this?

Regards

Web Design Midlands|||When I did it it was called Xerox Transfers. Unfortunately it is hard to find photo copies that will work for this technique now a-days. I can't remember now what we used (probably because I could not make it work the way I wanted it to so blanked it out.) However, I have found a few sites that bring up ways to transfer images using Modge Podge, Turpentine, Acetone (which was probably what we used), wintergreen oil and gum arabic. In other words, there more than one way to get the job done.

Most of the links aren't exactly "how to" but will help in figuring out where to look for more info. (and may jog your memory to how you did it the first time)
