What type of heat transfer is found in an electric microwave?

Microwaves, (it's called a miccrowave oven for a reason) excite water molecules. It is a form of radiation, just like a toaster oven uses infrared radiation, and it does not cook your food from the inside....|||Electrons are emitted by the device at a radio frequency equal to the natural harmonic frequency of water.


When the electrons are absorbed by the water in the food, the water heats up and the heat energy which in turn cooks the food.


It's not entirely wrong to say you're boiling the food from within...|||the microwave inside the microwave oven makes the molecules of the food inside to vibrate. vibration causes heating. i'm not sure if this is radiation, but at least this is how an electric microwave works.
