Is it possible to transfer hard drive contents from one type of iMac to another please?

I've got a 17" screen iMac G5 from 2005. The logic board's died and I want to get a new iMac. The problem is, that I want the stuff from the old Mac's hard drive. Is there any way I could transfer it onto the new Mac? Thanks. Also, if I remove the hard drive does that definitely mean all my info has been removed from the computer? Thanks.|||Everything on the hard drive is fine. Just take it out and get a usb adapter or hard drive enclosure and plug the hard drive in to the new mac. Then just use Migration Assistant in the Applications --%26gt; Utilities folder to transfer the data.
